The face of the Patriots…Jerod Mayo?

Banners are going up all over downtown Indianapolis as the city prepares to host its first-ever Super Bowl.

Last Sunday, the New England Patriots and New York Giants clinched their spot into Super Bowl XLVI on Feb. 5th.

This latest one I found especially noteworthy. This banner seems to highlight the stars of both teams. Eli Manning for the Giants and Jerod Mayo, not Tom Brady for the Patriots. I have no doubt it was done on purpose.

[Mayo is a 4th-year linebacker out of the University of Tennessee. He has registered 95 tackles and has two interceptions.

When the Patriots won the AFC Championship game, Colts fans cringed at the thought of Brady playing for another title, and in Indianapolis, at the stadium Peyton built.

Hoosiers will treat visitors with the utmost respect…but that doesn’t mean they have to showcase Tom Brady.
