Pacers own picks 18 and 47 in 2017 NBA Draft

The Pacers now know exactly where they will be drafting in the 2017 NBA Draft, set for Thursday, June 22nd.

Following a 42-40 season, Indiana has the 18th pick, plus No. 47 in the second round. Since Milwaukee and Indiana had the same regular-season record, a tie had to be broken on Tuesday.

The Pacers lost a random drawing, conducted by NBA Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations Kiki VanDeWeghe in Secaucus, N.J, and so they were slotted one spot behind the Bucks, who own the 17th overall selection.

Last year, the Pacers traded their first-round pick (20) to Brooklyn in exchange for Thad Young, and then selected Iowa State’s Georges Niang 50th overall.

The NBA Draft Lottery won’t be held until May 16th, but we do know the 14 lottery teams: Brooklyn (to Boston), Phoenix, Los Angeles Lakers, Philadelphia, Orlando, Minnesota, New York, Sacramento, Dallas, New Orleans, Charlotte, Detroit, Denver, and Miami.

Several of these picks have contingencies. Like the Lakers’ pick, which goes to Philadelphia if it falls outside of the top three.

The draft order for the rest of the first round has been finalized.
