A lot happens each week with the Pacers and it’s not easy to stay on top of it. Introducing a new weekly feature, Pacers Last Week, which should help keep you up-to-date on all things Pacers.

School is back in session today. The “offseason” is over…

  • FOX Sports Indiana, the television home of the Pacers, will air two of the team’s four preseason games.
  • The team posted an application for those wanting to be considered for the public address announcer opening. The deadline to apply is on Wednesday (Sept. 27).
  • They hired Cody Parrent as the Director of Esports Operations. The Pacers are one of 17 NBA teams planning to field a team beginning in 2018.
  • Myles Turner and Lance Stephenson each have fan sections this season. They held final auditions last week, and then announced the winners on their Instagram pages.
  • Their annual golf outing was held at the Brickyard Crossing Golf Course, benefiting the Pacers Foundation. Golfers received a nice gift bag that included a Nike belt with the team’s secondary logo on it, a Nike Pacers polo, a New Era Pacers hat, and a Pacers bottle of Jim Beam.
  • We learned that Al Jefferson slimmed down, cutting meat from his diet. Again.
  • First-round pick T.J. Leaf has been off the basketball court due to injury for the last month or so, but the coaches expect that he’ll be ready for the start of camp.
  • Pacers FanJam is set for Sunday, October 15th.
  • Jarrod Uthoff and the Pacers reportedly agreed to a deal.
  • Victor Oladipo released a music video.
  • Carl Nicks, the Pacers’ Manager of Player Development, spoke at an Indiana State Basketball reception.
  • Aaron Brooks, who was in Indy for just one season, reunited with is Bulls teammates in Minnesota.
  • Paul George said he didn’t know he was going to get traded. Seriously. (Then, Carmelo Anthony was traded to Oklahoma City on Saturday.)
  • The Mad Ants held open tryouts on Saturday and had 120 or so players competing for four spots to training camp. The franchise was very happy with the turnout, the best ever.
  • Chris Denari, the television voice of the Pacers on FOX Sports Indiana, flew to India on Sunday. He’ll be tutoring Indian announcers to school them up on the NBA and calling basketball games.
