Led by underclassmen, IU routes North Carolina Central 75-56

In non-conference tilt in the middle of Big Ten play, Indiana passed the test, beating North Carolina Central 75-56. Best of all, they made it through without injuries and doing anything stupid.

49ers head coach and Tom Crean’s brother-in-law, Jim Harbaugh, was on hand for the game and spoke with the team both before and after the game.

There was a great exchange in Coach Crean’s press conference afterwards.

Crean said Harbaugh insisted on being involved during the game so he carried the seats and set them out during timeouts (seen right). Coach Harbaugh, who sat in the back of the press conference, yelled out, “I was trying to contribute!” That brought laughter to the room.

Crean was then asked if he was a Michigan spy, Harbaugh hollered, “HELL NO!”

After a bad loss Sunday at Iowa, this game set the tone for the final three games of Big Ten play. A win won’t be easy to come by for IU at Minnesota on Sunday, but it would definitely be huge. Another win and another road win.

Then it’s Michigan State and Purdue at home.

With the victory, the Hoosiers improve to 21-7 and finished their non-conference schedule undefeated. Watch my postgame recap below:
