Victor Oladipo pounds the anvil before Colts-Broncos

Victor Oladipo was invited by the Indianapolis Colts to their primetime game Thursday evening. It was the featured game on Thursday Night Football on NBC as they hosted the Denver Broncos to Lucas Oil Stadium.

Before the game, Oladipo roamed the field in a custom No. 4 Colts jersey and he visited with players, like Broncos wide receiver Cody Latimer, who also attended Indiana University.

Then, before kick-off, Oladipo had the honor of hammering the Colts’ four foot, 200-pound anvil, a new game day tradition – part of their Colts Forged campaign.

“Hitting metal on metal is kind of that battle cry that you can get behind. We wanted the fans to also participate and knowing it’s kick-off time and it’s something for them really excited about,” Colts Creative Services manager Derek Wolfe told CBS 4.

Before pounding the anvil, Oladipo motioned for the crowd to make noise … and then did his signature “This is my house” celebration.

Oladipo, named Eastern Conference Player of the Week on Monday for the second time this season, has fully embraced Indy as much as fans have appreciated his drive and spirit.
