  • Making sense of their preseason schedule, down to four games, including one team from overseas.
  • They played their only home preseason game, beating Maccabi Haifa 108-89. We saw the debut of the new lighting system installed over the summer – and then I spoke with Pacers Sports & Entertainment President Rick Fuson about it. This system replaced the original one installed back in 1999!
  • Victor Oladipo talked with me about his passion for music and putting out his first EP.
  • Max Leinwand, the producer of Pacers broadcasts on FOX Sports Indiana, joined the podcast to discuss his job and their upcoming plans for the new season.
  • After additional tests, it was determined that Glenn Robinson III needed surgery on his left ankle to repair two ligaments. GRIII had surgery on Friday.
  • Pacers staff put on a two-hour coaching clinic for approximately 150 area coaches. Not only did the visitors enjoyed it, but so did Nate McMillan’s staff. It was fun to take in.
  • The team officially picked up the third year team option in Domantas Sabonis’ rookie deal.
  • Jarrod Uthoff, DeQuan Jones, Trey McKinney-Jones, rookie Ben Moore were waived over the weekend as the Pacers set their Opening Night roster. They have one available roster spot, which offers flexibility. McMillan on Uthoff, the last cut: “He can score. I think he will be in the NBA very soon.”
  • The cold open of Saturday Night Live featured a scene at a Pacers game. It was President Trump calling Vice President Mike Pence to instruct him to leave if players took a knee during the National Anthem – playing off of what occurred at last week’s Colts game.
  • Signage for Myles Turner and Lance Stephenson’s fan sections have been installed, ready for opening night on Wednesday.
  • An estimated 8,000 fans came out to FanJam, a free event, on Sunday afternoon. Ike Anigbogu won the rookie show.
  • Since GRIII was in bed after having ankle surgery, Lance Stephenson Facetime’d with him during key moments at FanJam, like the rookie show.
  • Oladipo hosted a party for the release of his EP Sunday with most of his teammates attending.
