Troy Williams reaches multi-year agreement with Houston Rockets

Troy Williams will return to the Houston Rockets for another season, reaching agreement with the team on a multi-year deal, a league source confirms to VigilantSports.com. The first year is fully guaranteed.

The Rockets are loaded in the competitive Western Conference, adding perennial All-Star point guard Chris Paul via trade to go alongside MVP finalist James Harden, Eric Gordon, Nene, Trevor Ariza and more.

Williams, a 6-foot-7 athletic wing out of Indiana University, appeared in six games with the Rockets last season, his rookie year. He was signed for the rest of the season and then dressed for the 2017 NBA Playoffs. That came after a stint of 24 games with the Memphis Grizzlies after going undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft.

Playing for the Rockets in the Las Vegas Summer League, Williams played well and impressed observers. He averaged 22.0 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game over five games played.

Williams gained attention earlier this year when he won the D-League Slam Dunk contest.
