Mad Ants alter team colors to match Pacers’ scheme

The Fort Wayne Mad Ants, owned and operated by the Indiana Pacers, have updated their team colors to match their parent company’s color scheme.

The Mad Ants have ditched maroon, which was their primary color, and replaced it with Pacers blue. The change is all about uniformity.

In addition to Nike taking over as the uniform and apparel supplier of the NBA, they will also be supplying uniforms to the G League and WNBA.

And, like the Pacers, the Mad Ants — who are entering their 11th season — will be updating their uniforms for the 2017-18 season.

“We are very excited to unveil our new look,” said Mad Ants President Tim Bawmann. “While we felt it was important to become more visually aligned with the Pacers, we knew it was equally important to maintain our strong connection to the Fort Wayne community.”

Pacers owner Herb Simon purchased the Mad Ants, their own developmental league team, in September, 2015. They have played two seasons under Pacers’ ownership, including head coach Steve Gansey.

“This is a very significant day for Pacers Sports & Entertainment,” Jim Morris, the Vice Chairman of Pacers Sports & Entertainment, said then.
