Ahead of NBA announcement, Nate McMillan on Paul George: ‘He’s an All-Pro for us’

SPEEDWAY, Ind. — Several hours before the NBA announces the All-NBA voting, which has a serious a impact on Paul George and his future with the Pacers, head coach Nate McMillan and his staff were enjoying a trip to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The bunch toured the Andretti Autosport garages, observed work being done to the cars, and spoke with several members in the garage – including 2016 Indianapolis 500 Champion Alexander Rossi.

As I’ve covered in great detail on here, George being voted to one of three All-NBA teams has a profound impact on his earning potential, and the Pacers’ chance to entice PG-13 to remain in Indy.

The obvious question had to be asked: What are your feelings going into today’s announcement? (It’s expected to come out at 2:00 pm ET.)

“You see I’m sweating right?,” McMillan playfully answered.

“We’re comfortable with Paul. Whether they list him as an All-Pro [or not], he’s an All-Pro for us. A great player. Whatever happens, we’ll work with that.”
