Jeff Teague ready to go for Game 3

Despite landing hard on his shooting hand, Pacers point guard Jeff Teague is good to go for Game 3 of the team’s first-round series against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

“Everybody’s got a little soreness during this time of the season,” coach Nate McMillan said Wednesday. “He’ll be ready to go tomorrow.”

Two minutes into the third quarter of Game 2 on Monday, Cavaliers big man Kevin Love slid over to try to take the charge on him. Teague missed the shot, and landed hard on his right hand. As Teague awaited the basketball at the line, he held that hand with his left. And he continued to do so throughout the rest of the game.

Teague did make both of those foul shots, by the way, and finished with 23 points, four rebounds, and four assists.

Teague participated in practice on Wednesday.

Less than a week earlier, Teague went down with an ankle injury and went straight to the locker room with a team trainer.

The Indianapolis product was the only Pacer to not only play in all 82 games, but start in every single game.

Glenn Robinson III, who returned Monday after missing a dozen games due to a left calf strain, will play but he remains on a minutes restriction. Nobody is listed on the Pacers’ injury report.

In the Pacers’ regular-season finale win over Atlanta, Teague left the game with an ankle injury. X-rays were negative.
