VIDEO: Nate McMillan’s Midseason Assessment

Nate McMillan is in his first year as Pacers head coach, promoted to the top seat on the bench last spring.

“Inconsistent” is the team’s One Word for the first part of the 2016-17. It wasn’t until the calendar turned to 2017 that the Pacers strung together more than two wins in a row.

Prior to Monday’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans, coach McMillan shares his assessment of his team’s play, their ups and downs, and lack of urgency a few months into the season. To this point, they were 4-1 in January — with their only loss coming across the pond in London in their worst performance of the season.

“We are close to being halfway and we kind of feel that’s how we’re playing — we’re halfway there,” he said. “We’ve done some good things and then our last game [in London] just was not a good performance. We keep talking about consistency and needing to improve. And there’s a lot of room for growth with us.”
