Students at IU wore Paul George jerseys to mock wedding party

You may have seen on Twitter that a group of young men appeared to wear Paul George jerseys to a wedding.

Back in Bloomington before the start of the school year at IU, some college students decided to throw a party. No surprise, right?

What you didn’t know is that it was a wedding-themed party … with the groomsmen each wearing a different style jersey of the face of the Indiana Pacers.

“The fake groom and myself had enough Paul George jerseys to supply everyone with a jersey and still had about five left over,” junior Braden Norris told VigilantSports.com. “We held a fake ceremony and fake married a couple of our friends.”

One groomsmen had George’s Fresno State jersey. One had his Hickory jersey. Another wore the jersey created for Christmas Day, which I don’t believe the team ever even wore. And then, one had on his USA jersey.

Norris tagged George in the tweet, which PG later saw and retweeted with the comment: “This is love right here!”

Themed parties are common at college campuses. This group chose to have some fun while sporting jerseys of their favorite player. (For the record, the other side of the wedding went with a Hawaiian theme.)

“I can’t speak for anyone else but I claim to be the biggest Paul George fan,” Norris, a native of Liberty, Indiana, continued.

“I got a picture with him when we were in the G2 Zone at IU about five years ago. I have a Pacers jerseys and his Bulldog jersey and countless tshirts. I spend all of my extra money on PG merchandise or trying to go to a game and see him play. I just bought his Olympic jersey and a PG shower curtain. I got a German Shepherd puppy for Christmas and named him Paul George.”

Jerseys, a shower curtain, and a puppy. Now that’s dedication to PG-13, now a household name.
