Popeye Jones will head up the Pacers’ Summer League team.

The Pacers kicked off rookie/free agent camp early Tuesday evening with a practice lasting more than 130 minutes. The early observation was how they need to get in better shape.

Head coach Nate McMillan has enlisted Popeye Jones as to coach their Summer League team. Jones, meanwhile, joked that Burke had paid his dues and retired from those responsibilities.

It is during this time (and five games in Orlando) where the coaching staff can evaluate players in certain situations and then go over that video with them afterwards.

After the first practice, McMillan talked with reported about his coaching additions, his evaluations of second-round pick Georges Niang, and what he wants to see from the four Pacers participating in Summer League. Watch below:

Just getting to town, Niang also met with the media for the first time Tuesday.
