Pacers 2016 Pre-Draft Workouts: Diamond Stone, Maryland

Diamond Stone is a young big man, just 19 years old and fresh off of his first and only year at Maryland.

In his freshman year, Stone averaged 12.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game. He’s a back-to-the-basket guy, but insists he can stretch out to the 3-point line. But he didn’t attempt one 3-pointer while at Maryland.

He felt like his workout on Wednesday for the Pacers was his worst — shots just weren’t falling — but the Pacers, as all teams should, don’t read a lot into one workout. It’s about a player’s full body of work. A pre-draft workout is just the finishing touch in the binder full of pages for each NBA hopeful.
