No rest for the Pacers on this weekend. Two days after trading for second-round big man Rakeem Christmas, they have added another Indiana kid to the roster.
Glenn Robinson III, a product of Gary, Indiana, is joining the Pacers, a league source confirmed to VigilantSports.com — and he’s their second player, along with George Hill, to attend an Indiana high school. Excited about the news, he tweeted the following:

Robinson will sign a three-year deal, league sources told VigilantSports.com.
Robinson III, who played high school ball at Lake Central High School, played two years at the University of Michigan before entering his name in the 2014 NBA Draft. The 6-foot-6, 211-pound small forward was selected 40th overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves. He received limited minutes in 25 games and then was waived. Subsequently, the Philadelphia 76ers claimed him off of waivers and he went on to average 4.4 points and 2.5 rebounds per game in 10 games, including one start.
He’s excited to join the professional basketball team in his home state, and looking forward to learning under the wing of Paul George. And the Pacers have been great at developing young wings recently — a la George and Lance Stephenson.
I’m told the Pacers have liked Robinson III for quite some time, going back to the 2014 NBA Draft.
With this addition, the Pacers have brought in another young, athletic player with intriguing potential. Robinson III, who’s just 21, joins a young mix of Myles Turner (19), Joe Young (23), Christmas (23).
Although Lavoy Allen and Shayne Whittington have not yet signed, the Pacers now have 15 players, the maximum a team can carry during the season. Allen will be the last to sign because the Pacers have his Bird Rights — meaning they can go over the cap to re-sign one of their own.
