VIDEO: Paul George plays (light) one-on-one game

After many players had exited the practice court at Bankers Life Fieldhouse Monday afternoon, injured Pacers star Paul George stayed behind and got some light work in.

On the east goal, he took on Mike DiBenedetto, one of the team’s assistant video coordinators, in a game of one-on-one. They joked that the winner gets the handicapped spot. (DiBenedetto has a bad hip, which he injured playing in a pick-up game prior to media day in late September.) The two frequently work together during George’s rehab.

For the most part, they each hoisted from beyond the top of the arc. However, there was some movement and defending from George, who is recovering from an open tibia-fibula fracture from August 1st.

Watch highlights from their battle below:

UPDATE: 1/13 — Coach Frank Vogel on George’s health: “It’s pretty unlikely that he’s going to play this year. He’s coming along well, moving around on the court decently but still a long way to go.”
