Bankers Life Fieldhouse’s practice court refinished

The practice court at Bankers Life Fieldhouse recently received a facelift.

The practice court at Bankers Life Fieldhouse has been refinished.

Out with the old, in with the new. Here’s Paul George getting shots up on the old floor earlier this summer.

The court at the northeast corner of the Fieldhouse was recently sanded and painted, providing a fresh, up-to-date look and feel for the Pacers and Fever. It was a necessary update after the thousand of hours combined that the teams and players spent on it — in addition to the number of events held there.

The new paint scheme is the same used on the main floor during Pacers games. As seen in the photo to the right, the older paint scheme featured a gold border, blue lines, and and a different hardwood pattern.

In 2013, the WNBA 3-point line moved back to FIBA standards (19′ 9″ to 20′ 6¼”). Instead of three of four lines on the old floor, the new one simply has the two 3-point stripes.

The freshly refinished court has it shining bright and cleaned up, ready for the players to get their work in 24/7.
