Netflix outage shines bad on Americans

[Note: I know this isn’t sports related. But my findings compelled me to post this.]

Before I finally turn over to attempt to fall asleep night, I typically watch a show — often on Netflix, a web-streaming service. They have approximately 50 million subscribers, according to CNN.

Around 11:30 p.m. ET Tuesday night, I opened up Netflix app on my iPad ready to turn on my show of the week.

Unfortunately, it was lagging, never opened, and so it was very clear that there were problems on Netflix’s end. As I often do to confirm what I figured, I searched “Netflix” on Twitter and was disappointed, but not surprised, with what I read.

The standard tweet was something like, “I hate my life. Netflix is down. Now what?”

Um, read a book. Call someone and have an actual conversion. Talk to your roommate, if you have one. Catch up on work, or at least be productive. Read the newspaper (online, of course). Netflix is a nice resource but folks took it too far. Truly first-world problems.
