Pacers’ preseason schedule released, includes three home games

Pacers’ 2014-15 preseason schedule includes three home games.

The Indiana Pacers’ preseason slate for the 2014-15 season was released Tuesday afternoon and they’ll open up at home against Minnesota on Tuesday, Oct. 7. That’s one of three home games the Pacers will play as part of their seven-game exhibition schedule.

Two other highlights: the Pacers face LeBron James and the Cavaliers at the Cintas Center on the campus of Xavier University on Oct. 15. David West, the backbone of the Pacers, played at Xavier (1999-2003) and was the AP National Player of the Year his senior season.

I remember when the Pacers hosted the Spurs to Assembly Hall in Bloomington back in 2009 and that was special. I like how not only the NBA is playing at different venues, but often times they’ll visit local colleges.

The Pacers will conclude the preseason in Charlotte on Oct. 23 against former Pacer Lance Stephenson, and former IU standouts Cody Zeller and Noah Vonleh.

Media day will be held on Monday, Sept. 29 with the training camp commencing the following day.

The regular season schedule is being finalized and is expected out in the next week or two.
