Brent Pease leaves IU, returns to Boise State as offensive coordinator

Coach Kevin Wilson will have to turn to plan B in his search for an offensive coordinator at Indiana University.

Today Boise State officially announced that Brent Pease will return to the Broncos after joining the Hoosiers coaching staff less than two weeks ago.

Pease did not sign legally binding agreement, so there are no issues with breach of contract. This all was made possible because Bryan Harsin left Boise State to become the offensive coordinator at the University of Texas, thus upgrading Pease’s pay scale and responsibility.

“I’m very honored and fortunate to be able to return to Boise State,” Pease said.  “While I was very much looking forward to the opportunity at Indiana, the knowledge and relationships I have with the players, coaches and administration at Boise State made it a very logical choice for me and my family.”

Before coming to Boise State in 2006, Pease served as the offensive coordinator/quarterback coach at Baylor University (2003-05), the University of Kentucky (2001-02), Northern Arizona University (1999-00) and at his alma mater of Montana (1991-98).

Better now than later for IU. Kevin Wilson has already signed on a defensive staff, wide receivers coach and director of strength and conditioning. Fred Glass has made nearly two million dollars available to Wilson for a top coaching staff.

I am not sure who Coach Wilson made go after for the very important offensive coordinator position. However if his previous hires are any indication, Hoosier fans are in good hands.
